Comments:
Naturally we like any GS bred stallion, especially one like two-time Classic winner GS Remington but we don't follow every single racing stallion, if we did Whitebrook would have way more horses than we do now, which is why we go for the better bred racing stallions and mares since we believe strictly in breeding the best to the best and making a great. We have had the reserve to Cascade for a while and originally it was used for Anarchi but we didn't want to wait that long so when we got offered the GS Remington breeding after handling the showing of the GS show string (minus the racers) we were ecstatic, and we got together a list of possible mares for the future Rio daughter, Cascade was the one WB & GS agreed on and MS, Cascade's owner was perfectly fine with it as well. Mai was born at the perfect time, we were just cutting down on our stock and Vintage and Regency were within their last few months of pregnancy. While Rege and Vintage foaled here, Cascade gave birth at Memoir Stables to a healthy, long-legged chestnut filly with oversize ears.
Unlike her brothers Kenzington and Lexington, Marilyn Monroe is a bit more coordinated and girly, but with equal amounts of speed, and slightly less competitive spirit than Kenz and Exi. Mind you, she's all for running against those boys who dare challenge her in the paddock or even when she gets out there on the track. She is strongly inclined to run her races on dry tracks, even dry turf, but she hates to run on a muddy track. She is a stunner, and she can work a crowd, with her powerful strides. Her big ears are a bit of a turn-off since not too many horses have such big ears but she is the baby girl around Whitebrook, regardless of the size of her ears. Mai is a bit prissy and her biggest joy is to get a bath after a race, quivering with excitement and pleasure as the grim and sweat is washed away. She also inherited her sire, GS Remington's love of sticking out her tongue, except she does it mostly when she's not at the track, and she loves for someone to pull her tongue. Mai is usually at her calmest around her top two favorite people, Gabs and Mel, but after growing up with Cascade she is still semi-excited around them. She has yet to race, but so far she seems to be suited for distances anywhere from seven to twelve furlongs. Her sire and dam were both mainly dirt horses but we hope that with the right amount of training Mai will be able to race on both dirt and turf surfaces and do well.
