Comments:
Peron was born premature, but that didn't stop him from being incredibaly awesome! He is only going to be 15.2 even though his sire and dam are huge, since he was born too early, and was weak. However, Peron was a naughty and mischievous little colt. He always seems to be the one who is chewing down the fence, unlatching his door, or rubbing out his beautiful black mane. I would like him to go to a home were he will compete lots, and then have a good retirement when he's done and maybe breed some, because when he's in the ring he does his best, and puts in 110% effort, even if he is a bit naughty, and I know he will do well with a loving owner. Peron is a real competitor like most Boo foals, and also loves the rush of jumping. He also likes lots of attention, and will lay flat out in the shade beside you and sleep for hours. He did however build a strong bond between his sire, since they were in stalls and pastures beside each other as Peron grew up, and would enjoy stopping by every so often to visit.
We semi-retired Peron in late 2007, finding ourselves with no time to devote to our eventers, as well as the lack of shows he could be entered in. He was still kept in training since Mel hated retiring him so early, and was brought back to the show rings as a highly skillfully hunter horse. After so long a break Peron enjoyed being back in the spotlight, and Mel definitely likes having him doing something that distracts him a little from chewing the fences or his favorite trick, opening his stall door and taking off for miles. With him having a purpose now Peron's antics have subsided but he still is naughty and does still have chewing issues but his stall isn't nearly in as bad shape as it used to since Peron is restrained by the cribbing halter he wears everytime he is in his stall. Since being officially retired, Peron has taken to it with some reluctance, it's easy to see he misses the old schedule he had even though he does still get worked to stay in shape.
