Comments:
Maggie is a very loving filly. Much like GS Poise And Ivy however, she has a will to win. She won't give up, and likes things her way, because of course, duh, hers is the best way! Not! She needs a strong rider, but she will take the crowds breathe away with her powerful strides and beauty. She looks much like her half sister, the elegant chestnut filly of mine, GS What Luck. Very speedy, and very big, this filly is a one of a kind. She wasn't originally planned to be one of our eventers but after the good work we did with Prince, as well as the fact that the person who was supposed to get her never picked her up Matabon offered her to us. Never have we regretted accepting Maggie.
As Mags matured and grew up while going from Matty's strict handling to Mel's harsh training regime, she learned to co-operate with her rider but still keep her determined spirit. Mags was up for anything Mel handed her and never gave less than a hundred percent, no matter how small or big the show was. She was born to compete and Mel and Mags made a great team. Mags had a outstanding career as a eventer, and was Mel's second best eventing mare after Struck By War of course although breeding wise both mares equalled each other out. She was retired at a young age for a eventer but Mel decided a quiet retirement would be in Mags's best interest and so it was. Maggie will always long to be back in the show rings, and Mel definitely misses competing her but Mags is on her way to entering the next important phase of her life, that being a mother. So far she has done really well and her three year old filly Stargazer has the same fierce determination in the show ring as Maggie did when she was in her prime.
