Comments:
Santana is well just that Santana. She is unique and knows who she is, but she's not obnoxious or rude around her handlers. In races she is very willing but occasionally she will get this "look" about her and you know whatever set her off is about to go down and there's just no stopping her. Whenever Ana is a total bratty mood and isn't up to doing anything, she will refuse to come out of her stall and finally when pulled, prodded and even pushed from her stall she'll run with the wind regardless of the consequences, and even step on a couple of toes intentionally in the process to make her point clear. Her intelligence shows through in races as she knows how to follow directions and rarely gets rank unless the rider interferes with her quiet way of moving through the field or is too rough with her. She is a very balanced racer but every now and again she'll get bumped and need a steadying hand during a race but other than that she can handle anything.
She never really gets too excited before a race, in the post parade she's usually the only one not prancing around like a show pony. Ana does get very hyper after a win, big or small, and poses the entire time in the winners circle. She doesn't let anyone get the better of her, but she's not the horse who has to exert her dominance very often, most of the time a simple ear pinning back will let the other horse know to quit messing around with her. Ana gets along with everyone, handler wise and usually doesn't show her Xenophon side towards people too often, and mostly around Korona, Intuition and Atalanta does her sire show clearly. For all her kind and willing nature Santana is competitive and she has razor sharp speed when Mel asks her to turn it up. She is very athletic, in addition to being agile, and can a total doll when it comes to getting what she wants most, that being attention and the treat every once in a while. She has a knack for running at any distance around 8 or 10 furlongs is when she does her best but she can even stretch out to 12 furlongs if she has too.
