Comments:
We approached Godolphin Stables about breeding our former Impossible Determination to their mare Shall We Dance in 2006 for a full sibling to GS Gallant Prince, at that time the answer was no but shortly after that the wind changed direction and Shall We Dance was covered by Impossible Determination for the pair's second and last foal. At that time it was just a few full siblings to champions but since then many other full siblings have been born including Belladona and Augustana, sisters to the legendary Augusta and Geronimo, as well as Admirable, the younger sister to MHS Triple Crown winner Admiral's Revenge. This little girl is our pride and joy, even more than Santana but Mel refuses to pit Song against Ana. Song is very laid back and gentle, a total angel. She has impeccable manners and has beautiful coloring with pretty nice conformation.
Song can be cheeky and playful at times like Prince was, but she minds her handler with no problems. In spite of her cool manners and shy ways she does have an firey streak every now and then, like every racer. Very rarely does she act up, even after defeat, she takes it like a champion and acts no different whether she looses or wins. She is quiet on the ground, and gets along beautifully with every horse she encounters, but then again she's too shy to even look the other horse in the eye at first. She is sleek and when she's flying along at top speed with Mel in the saddle she's an automatic threat to anyone else in the field. When she is really not herself, you'll find her in the middle of the pack. Song usually doesn't fight for a win, unlike Ana and Jay, who will both bully their ways through a field if it means having a chance of winning. Song will swing to the outside and sprint for all she's got to get back the distance she lost. Her style of running is best suited for eight to ten furlongs, but given how much she's matured the past year she is now able to stretch out to twelve furlongs. There aren't too many horses as honest and sweet as Song nowadays. Everyone breeds for the hot thoroughbreds with the aggressive nature and 'killer instincts'. Song is a cut above all that and she symbolizes what Whitebrook stands for, and that is that you can make a champion out of any horse no matter their disposition. Now that Song has been officially retired from the racetrack, we hope that she will pass on the qualities that made her a great racer to her future foals. With her kind nature Mel is positive this special girl will be one fantastic mother.
