Comments:
Well she's not the dullest horse to be around but she's not one with loads of spirit either, she has spirit don't get me wrong but Faith isn't really vicious she just blends in most of the time. She is competitive and will fight to win, but getting her in the right mind-set takes time since she has off-days and won't focus on her jockey at all. Her tall size makes her a worthy horse to look out for but it depends on the day of the week. Her speed is just about right, and she has stamina to boot. Whe Mel slips into her saddle on the right day it's hard to stop her from victory, she just toys with her competition until the final stretch before blowing by them to snatch the win. Her bad days consist of ignoring cues, running when she wants to and patronizing her opponents until she's wiped out with nothing but fumes to run on. Faith can run with the boys, in fact she LOVES to run with the boys, since sometimes she gets tired of running with fillies all the time. With GS Gallant Prince gone, Mel hopes to shape Faith up good and make her one of the most competitive mares after Contessa.
That dream, however was short-lived when Faith pulled up with a slightly pulled tendon in her first work after the Aggression Cup. She did come back to full health after a two and a half month break from the track, whether or not her tendon will bother her in her future starts is undetermined as of yet but chances are she'll come through when Mel asks her for the final drive. She will always be one of our top race mares, not for her pedigree, since she comes from a primary dirt based background and Faith is proving herself to be a fabulous turf racer, but for her huge heart and power to overcome any obstacle. Like most of the racers here, minus a good few, Faith responds best to Mel and in the past two years they have forged a strong bond that has led Faith to many top three places in important races.
